Creation of Ukrainian Marine Environment Protection Association UKRMEPA preceded big painstaking labor activists initiators of such public organization in Ukraine. At the origins of the Ukrainian Association were: Odessa National Maritime Academy, the Naval Institute in Ukraine - Department of Maritime Institute UK, Institute of Postgraduate Education of executives and specialists of maritime and river transport of Ukraine, Ukrainian Central Design Bureau "Stapel" and Odessa regional organization " Green Party. UKRMEPA in 2008 was officially recognized by the Marine world community and already internationally successfully collaborated with HELMEPA and other affiliates INTERMEPA.
UKRMEPA unites Ukrainian interests almost everyone who works in the system the maritime industry,and directly or indirectly responsible for the environmental safety of the regions of the Black and Azov Seas, and the Danube river in the lower reaches (in the area of ​responsibility of Ukraine)
